Institut für Agrar- und Stadtökologische Projekte an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (IASP)

The Institute for Agricultural and Urban Ecological Projects at the Humboldt University Berlin (IASP) is an interdisciplinary research institution. The scientific focus of the IASP's research and development work is on plant systems, livestock husbandry, biogenic raw materials and food technology.
It is organised as an affiliated institute of the Humboldt University in Berlin and deals mainly with application-oriented research. As a non-profit "external industrial research institution" it is a scientific partner for small and medium-sized companies as well as for numerous institutes of universities and scientific institutions in Germany and abroad. The IASP thus fulfils a bridging function at the interface between university research and social or entrepreneurial application.
The IASP has already established and managed several international and national research networks. It also coordinates the Green Track Network. In the past, the IASP has made a name in the field of technical vegetation systems for tram tracks and has also achieved the status of a competence centre with a large number of pilot and demonstration plants for technical vegetation systems on building surfaces in several major German and European cities.
